Now lets cut the crap and I'll discuss my first movie of this blog, which, ironically (in some way or another), is American History X.
American History X
First of all, I'd like to make it clear that I'm not one of those hipster fucks who go about watching noir films from pre-war eras. I don't like that sort of stuff. I find them, well, boring to be honest. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not a Michael Bay fanboy who's into explosions and shit. But the fact that they were created in a period of history, aimed for that certain part of history makes them slightly boring. I just can't stand that. Whilst other movies (like 2001), I can understand, where directors have used technology years in advance from what is normal for that time (maybe decades for 2001 A Space Odyssey).
Now, back to American History X. (Here, I'll try to explain the movie in one sentence for people who haven't seen it without ruining it too much). "Edward Norton is a neo-nazi who goes to prison and comes out normal and attempts to change the ways of his brother" It's shot in Black/White for most part of the movie. It doesn't take a movie critic to know that this illustrates the simplistic ideology the neo-nazi's. What the fuck am I talking about. This shit is boring. I dropped English in order to not do stuff like this. Now lets get to interesting point. "Edward Norton get's raped in a prison shower..." It was rumored that Tony Kaye (director) had an alternative ending to the movie. (SPOILER) That young kid gets shot by black kid (SPOILER). Where Edward Norton apparently shaves his head after this incident and goes back to his old ways. This was obviously scrapped as Kaye didn't want to be seen as a Nazi sympathizer. Which in turn relates to how Hollywood is run by Jews.Film Rating: 8/10
